I guess all that security really is necessary

In March I wrote about the beefed-up security surrounding the US embassy in Vienna. Seems like they need it, although there may not have been much they could have done had the bag detonated.

The problem is that the embassy becomes largely useless if you lock out the Austrian people. Security needs to accommodate the function of the building, not the other way around.
