Mid-Wales

In my family, the wild camp is a rite of passage. Last month I decided the time had come for my boys (8 and 4) to partake of the soma. So off we headed for the Cambrian mountains of mid-Wales and the Elenydd wilderness.
Somewhere north-west of Builth Wells:
We dumped the car outside of this remote Calvinist chapel (Soar y Mynedd):
Dad couldn’t resist stoking his inner Welsh preacher:
After a night harassed by sheep, we awoke to cold, driving rain:
My boys carried their own gear and only grumbled once their feet got wet:
We spent the second night by the coal fire of Tyncornel youth hostel …
… and awoke to snow:

RJ, nice to see you’re getting outside! Those boys have grown a ton. Looks like you outfitted them quite well – nice. And are you driving a Citroen? I saw those when I lived in S. America – I loved those things. I wish we had them here in the states.
